The For Sale By Owner Association Of Australia Inc. was set up to help a wide array of professionals who assist private sellers in the marketing and sale of their properties. The association aims to support its members in a number of ways; by providing resources and educative options, by providing a platform where members are able to voice and seek opinions on a range of topics, by providing market data, and by contributing to the overall growth of the sector by raising public confidence and awareness.
To promote awareness amongst Australian homeowners, that selling real estate privately is legal and that there is no requirement to use a real estate agent.
Mission Statement
The association has as its primary objectives:
- To promote awareness amongst Australian homeowners, that selling real estate privately is legal and that there is no requirement to use a real estate agent.
- To install or raise confidence amongst Australian homeowners in the Association’s members, and the wider sector in general by: a. Outlining a Code of Conduct to which all members must adhere. b. Ensuring that all members are licensed (where the member is required to hold a real estate licence). c. Providing mechanisms whereby private vendors and landlords can voice any concerns they may have.
- To support members through educational workshops and online training courses,
- To support members with resources that may help them operate more effectively and efficiently,
- To collect and make available statistical data with regards to all aspects of the private sales sector in Australia.
- To promote ethical and truthful advertising within the private sales sector.
