Etheridge Shire is a growing shire with limited holiday rentals (1 house) & property rentals for the rising workers coming into the shire. We have had multiple people wanting to rent our house but we would prefer to sell.
Forsayth has a police station, hospital clinic, school across the road, caravan park & the hub of the town The Pub. The pub is our post office, general store & local meet up place. We have the Savannahlander train that comes out once a week from Cairns in tourist season.
Forsayth is known for its gold detecting (my partner has found & sold $7000 worth of gold) & has the best agates in the world. Forsayth now has a HUGE Dam (Charleston Dam) & our water restrictions are finally gone. So if you love fishing & water sports this could be the place for you, it’s nothing to knock off work then head down for a quick fishing afternoon or kayak in the dam.
Trades are in high demand out here, my partner is a builder & we are constantly turning down work or clients are asking to be put on a waiting list. Now we are leaving the council may need you to be their preferred tradie.
Cairns is 417km away
Atherton is 351km away
Townsville is 449km away
Georgetown is 40km away
Einasleigh is 90km away
Forsayth has been a safe & wonderful place to raise our 3 children but they will be starting high school & we don’t want to send them to boarding school. The bush life experience has brought the best out of our kids & experiences they would have never had in the city. This is a regretful sale as we love it here & hope a new family could make this place home.
