Because of its elevation Ravensbourne is 4 degrees cooler than Brisbane. With 1100 mm average rainfall, misty winter days make Ravensbourne a wonderful climate for plants, animals and humans.
There are two waterfalls within the Ravensbourne National park. These and the massive areas of forests in the area have a significant effect on the climate and hence the air quality . Wonderful positive ions & no traffic or industrial noise make for an idyllic lifestyle.
COMMUNITY
The caring country community go out of their way to make new residents feel welcome in the district. There are Play groups for the young mothers and children at the old school . The local hall holds regular dances & Trivia nights , and there is a regular Thursday night Pizza gathering. The local Sporting committee hold Tennis coaching for children on holidays , and Tennis is played on the community courts with regular day & night matches.
The local Landcare & Bush fire groups are well supported, and luckily there is no need for any flood rescue teams
